Valentines Day 2015

February 07 2015 – Zoe Schuler

Valentines Day is right around the corner. If you have special plans, you are probably looking for a special outfit to wear. However, for those of us in the Midwest, the weather often trumps fashion and we have to settle for a more practical outfit.

Well, if the temperatures do end up being below freezing on the 14th, we're here to show you how you can dress both practical (warm) and fashionable!

Valentines doesn't mean you have to wear red or pink from head to toe. If you're going someplace fancy, consider wearing a black & white dress (like the Curtsy & Bow Dress by Poppy & Bloom) and add a pop of color with a bright red lip & red shoes. Don't forget to keep warm in a pair of Spanx reversible tights.

For a more casual look, a sweater and leggings is a great way stay warm without compromising on fashion. This Lucky Brand graphic cowl pullover  has a bit of sparkle woven in. Find a medium pink lipstick to bring out the pink in the pattern on the sweater. Pair it with Nikibiki Leggings and your favorite black boots. Bring out the light parts of the pattern with an oversized handbag in a neutral color, like this one from Big Buddha (coming soon!).

For a flirty & girly look, a lighter pink or floral print is the perfect choice. Wear one of these Democracy Tops with a pair of Not Your Daughter's Jeans and a camel colored boot or flat.

The floral Democracy top has lace accents at the end of the sleeves and the envelope shape drapes in a very flattering way. Layer a navy or pink NikiBiki Tank Top underneath. The Lurex Democracy top has a subtle sparkle to it. Play it up with sparkly earrings & a necklace.

Do you have plans for Valentines day? What are you doing and more important, what are you wearing?!?
